Todays Old Testament scripture from the ELCA Lectionary features the story of Jacob when he hears that his youngest son, Joseph, is alive. God appears to Jacob in a dream (we wonder if Jacob asked Joseph of his dreams significance), telling him not be afraid to go to Egypt, for God would be with him. What a blessed assurance that must have been for Jacob. What a blessed assurance Gods constant presence is for us as well.
