Todays Prayer December 2, 2014 Dear God in heaven; thank You for another day. I pray in Jesus’ name and I trust You to guide me again, as I do each and every day. Without You, I am as helpless as a sheep without a shepherd. I have no way of knowing what this day will bring, but I know I need You. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105) Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:14-17) Father, my life is in Your hands. The lesson I’ve learned is this: There are sins of commission and there are sins of omission. If I know to do good but I don’t, then I have sinned against You. I pray I will use this day to do good, to do Your will, to bring honor to You. Lord, I know I need to be careful with everything I say or do, for the world is watching. What would others say about my testimony for You? I pray my service would glorify You. Lord, I commit my life for Your will and I confess my sins to You. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) And if Christ lives in me, am I living according to Your Word? I pray I would continue to change into Jesus’ likeness. I pray I would continue to strive to be like Him. To be a Christian is to be like You. I am nothing without Jesus. John tells us this, “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” (1 John 2:6) Father, I know there is still much work to do. Thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness for the times I have failed. Please work on me and use me to build a testimony of Your life. I praise You and thank You for transforming me to be like Jesus. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, amen.💜
