Todays Prayer December 30, 2014 Good morning my dear Lord. I wake and pray to You, my God and my Savior, in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and I thank You for Your promises. You are with me every day. And absolutely nothing can remove You from my side. You are holy and You are here; just as You were with Abraham. But Abram said, “Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!” And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” (Genesis 15:2-5) Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.” Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” (Genesis 17:15-17) Yes, Abraham laughed. So do we. Father, even today, we have trouble believing Your promises. Our limited knowledge of Your greatness is deeply obscured within our finite brains. Where is our faith? What would it take for Your people to trust You completely? You have given us Your Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. (John 1:1-2) Thank You, dear God, for opening Your arms and welcoming me to come to You, to find rest in You, to find Your truth and freedom in You, to have abundant life in You. As I read and study Your Word, I can’t help but wonder why more people don’t seek You in the Holy Scriptures. How can anyone deny Your existence when all around the world, the evidence is clear? Your creation is groaning, shouting, for You to make things right again. Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:5) Hallelujah! Your Word is faithful and true! Father, I pray that all who are weary will cry out to You and trust You. Thank You so much for all that You have done and for all that You will do. I pray Your works and miracles in the lives of believers will be witness to the world that You are Jehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I pray You would be glorified and may souls be saved. In the precious name of Jesus and for His sake I pray, amen.💜
