Spread Spectrum Technology originated as a way to determine how to synchronize torpedoes for World War II, but basically, its a communication system that allows for communication between two parties more secure, by having the two parties, that are communicating to be the only ones to know their communication frequency. It would start being used in the military before the Cuban Missile Crisis, and is now consider the key invention that help progress the advancement of cell phone technology. Strangely the reason Im mentioning this, was that it was by the great Hollywood actress, Hedy Lamarr! Along with pianist George Anthiel, who figured out that player piano technology could be used as the system of communication between the two parties, shes now considered among other things, a pioneer in the field of wireless communications.
