Todays Thought: Exodus 7:23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. In this particular verse, the he is Pharaoh. God had sent Moses and Aaron to tell him to let Gods people go. Moses had used his rod and through the power of God, turned it into a snake. Pharaohs magicians did the same, and Pharaoh said no. Then Moses snake(rod) ate up the magicians snakes. Next Moses took his rod and turned the water of the Nile to blood. Pharaoh called his magicians and they took some water and did the same thing through magic - God through His power. I ask myself wouldnt it had been a better magic trick if Pharaohs magicians could have taken the bloody water and made it clear???? We all know they couldnt because God was performing the miracles here. Moses and Aaron said once again let us go worship our God. Pharaoh said no. Then notice that word instead. Pharaoh had a choice to make……obey God or disobey God. You know that you and I have that same choice each day as we come upon circumstances and situations in our life. We can choose to do right, change a behavior, change a habit, help someone, forgive, etc……or we can instead turn away and not even take it to heart. Think about that for a moment. Pharaoh was being asked of God, through Moses and Aaron to let the people go…….and Pharaoh gave God no thought. He turned and walked away. May God help us to see He is calling us to do the right thing. When we are at the crossroads of instead what road do we take? Do we take the broad road that many seem to take and give no thought to God or His will for our life? Or do we instead take the narrow road. No, there arent many that are traveling that road. But oh, the destination is out of this world - a forever home in heaven with our Father God. May God help us today to take time to think of our instead choice. May God help us to take His will seriously and take to heart all that God is trying to say and do in our lives.
