Todays Tidbit 11/25/2013 Most pecans, acorns, and walnuts have found their way to the waiting earth, to the animals that will harvest them for food to be eaten in the coming weeks. On grounds not far from my home, a local black walnut tree has surrendered all that it is and is now set to slumber. In addition, today is the very first day in the Celtic Tree Month of Elder. The Elder Moon, as it is known, is predominantly a time of endings. It contains within it the longest and darkest night of the year, the Winter Solstice, which will occur on December 21st this year. Although the Elder can be damaged easily, it recovers quickly and springs back to life, corresponding to the approaching new calendar year, too. Called Ruish by the Celts (pronounced roo-esh), the month of Elder is a good time for workings related to creativity, dreams, and renewal. It is a time of beginnings and endings, births and deaths, and rejuvenation above all else. But, in order to properly rejuvenate, one must sufficiently rest. Rest and relaxation seems to be a tall order for almost everyone at any time of year, but as the winter holidays approach, it can seem nigh impossible. Find time for yourself anyway. Theres always an excuse to be had for not resting when one should. Find the time, courage, and strength to set your boundaries in place and rest. As for the cosmos, it asks you to accentuate emotional empowerment with dear ones as the Sun forms an inspirational, 72-degree tie to Juno. However, rather quickly the astro-psychic scene changes in the late morning, as the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase coincides with an off-kilter, 150-degree tie between Ceres and Chiron. Dont let worries and stress turn your life upside down. Trust in yourself and those who have earned your trust over the years. They wont steer you wrong now. All shades and tones of purple will be your best colors to wear and meditate on today. Add in an amethyst or yellow diamond accessory for extra good mojo. Recommended herbs and incense include olive, vanilla, cinnamon, cedar, and hyssop.
