Todays Tuesday Tip is courtesy of the Pet Poison Helpline: If youve ever gotten soap in your eyes, you know how much it can sting, but the irritation doesnt usually last long. For our pets, however, it can be a pretty significant problem! Some animals have a third eyelid which makes it almost impossible to adequately rinse irritants out of their eyes by yourself, and these pets can actually hurt themselves further by clawing at their stinging, burning, or itchy eyes. If your pets eye is exposed to any type of irritant (sap, cleaning products, oil, gasoline, dirt, etc.,) please let your vet help you take care of the problem! Call our office at 402-291-1255, or the Animal Emergency Clinic at 4020-339-6232.
