GOOD RESULTS MOTIVATE March 20th, 2014 QUOTE OF THE DAY: “THOSE WHO HAVE RESULT WORK HARDER TO MAKE IT BETTER” Memory Verse: “Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need” Acts 2:45. Where things do not work, people get frustrated. In a football competition, a team that is scoring goals is encouraged naturally to work harder so they can score more goals. A student that is passing examinations is motivated to work the more in order to move higher in his/her academics. A minister of God that is succeeding is encouraged to work harder to make it better. This is a natural phenomenon. It happened in Acts 2:45. The efforts of the apostles were yielding results, the church was growing numerically, thus they were encouraged to work harder in spreading the gospel, not minding the prevailing persecution. Similarly, God’s power was moving, so the miraculous entered the church and members of the church were having testimonies because God was confirming His word in the mouth of the Apostles with signs and wonders. Because people were having results, they became encouraged to the extent that they were joyfully and willingly laying their possessions at the feet of the Apostles to be shared (Acts 2:37). Coulthard, 1998 studied the relationship between productivity and motivation in a company and was able to establish that managers of production facilities who are meeting their quality targets actually invest 20 percent more time in improving their practices than managers of facilities that are falling short of their goals. In other words, the better off work harder to get even better. Not only will people get discouraged and frustrated where things do not work, they will suspect each other and apportion blame. So, which aspect of your life are you not having the desired results? Make out time, sit down, perhaps with some trusted and objective people to think it over. Reflect and re-evaluate. Do some amendments if need be. Bring in new people if need be. Every problem is traceable to something. Connect to God in fasting and prayers, and trust the Spirit of God to lead you.
