Todays Word - How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the wasteland! Again and again they put God to the test; they vexed the Holy One of Israel. Psalms 78:40-41 When we learn how to ride a bike it is something that we never forget. No matter how much time has past, we can always get back on a bike and trust that we will be able to ride it again. This is because we have learned to trust in some of our abilities to do some things. When we get sick, we go to the doctor because we trust that the doctor will be able to provide us with some relief or heal us, because they have done it before. Even though God has delivered us and provided for us numerous times before, why does it seem that every time trouble comes our way, we struggle with trusting God to deliver us or to provide for us again? We can easily trust in our own abilities or the abilities of others, but we struggle when it comes to trusting God. This is why the scriptures tell us that we worship the creation more than we worship the creator. You see, God has created all things, yet we put more trust in the things that God has created, than God Himself. Every time trouble shows up in our lives, we begin to worry, stress and doubt God. Even though the LORD has made a way for us so many times, our spirit is always battling with our flesh to try to get it to trust God and to be obedient to His Will. When we are going through the wilderness or those difficult times in our lives or the wasteland, which represents those dry places where nothing seems to be going right or nothing good is happening for us, we end up doubting God or we waver in our faith. The Holy Spirit is always interceding for us to try to help us, but we end up grieving or getting on the nerves of The Holy Spirit because we dont trust God to do what He said He would do. God promised to take care of us and to bless us, but many of us seem to forget about that when trouble shows up in our lives. Again and again, we keep putting God to the test by trying to make Him prove that He is who He says He is and that He can do what He said He will do. Who are we to keep challenging God in the midst of our storms or our difficulties? If we can look at the sky and see and know that it is blue, why cant we look at all that God has done for us and know that He will continue to take care of us and provide for us? God wants us to trust Him and to have unwavering faith. Today, I encourage you to stop being rebellious, put your trust in the LORD and stop grieving the Holy Spirit with your doubts and lack of faith. Be Encouraged Saints. God Bless.
