Todays Word - Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house. Proverbs 24:27 Preparation is the key to being successful. Preparation is the key to completing the tasks that God has given us to complete. We must always think ahead and try to prepare ourselves for the work that lays ahead of us. If we want to do something and do it well, we must prepare ourselves mentally and physically so that we are ready to take on the task at hand. Anyone who is athletic or works out, knows that the greatest obstacle that anyone must first overcome is the one that occurs in their mind. Even though we may desire to do some things, we must first get our minds right so that our thoughts will line up with our actions. We cannot continue to say that we want to lose weight, but we still continue to eat fattening foods and dont work out. We cannot continue to say that we want to be pastors, teachers, doctors, nurses or engineers but we never take the steps that we need to take to get there. The Lord has called us to do work for the Kingdom of God and many of us are still sitting around as if we dont know or understand what we should be doing. The scripture tells us that we must go through the stages of preparation. First, we should be putting our outdoor work in order. What does this mean? It means preparing ourselves to minister to those that we are supposed to be ministering to. We have to get our fields ready. Our fields are those who we will be ministering to. You see, as Christains, we are the church with no walls. We can go wherever we choose to go to minister to Gods people. We can use social media to reach the multitudes and to tell them about Christ. There are abused women, men, children and elderly who are waiting for us to touch their lives and help to draw them nearer to Christ. Some are lost and are in need of our mentoring to help them to find their way back to the Savior. We have the power and the avenues that we can use to help to save souls. There is no excuse for us to be sitting on the sidelines and being spectators while others are doing all of the work. You may be wondering, Where can I go to help? The nursing homes, the shelters, the jails, the childrens homes and anywhere out in the world where Gods people are. The scripture tells us to build our house. Our house is our ministry. Our house should be built upon a strong foundation that is deeply rooted in Christ. Our lives represent our ministry. It is how we live, how we do things, what we say and what we do to help others. The New Year has brought about new beginnings for us all, but we must prepare ourselves to walk in those new beginnings. God is always watching us to see if we are walking according to His Will. Today, I encourage you to stop making excuses and get up and prepare yourself to go out and do the work that you were called to do. If you have not already begun to do so, I encourage you to prepare your fields and start building your house or your ministry by doing the work that the LORD has called you to do. Be Encouraged Saints. God Bless.
