Todays Word 20th January 2014 January 20, 2014 at 8:59am God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfil? ( Numbers 23:19 ) Those are the words of prophet Balaam when King Balak requested him to curse Israel. Balaam initially refused to go but later was tempted to receive the gifts promised by Balak and decided to go. When he saw the armies of Israel, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and the Lord kept these words in his mouth. God is not a human being to change His mind. He is not a man to lie. He gave His word to Abraham that his children will be blessed and that the whole world will be blessed through the sons of Abraham. The promise once made to Abraham cannot be broken. The compassionate mind of God towards the children of Israel cannot be changed. The Moabite king and the prophet Balaam may pray that God curse Israel. But nothing can change the mind of God. God has decided once and for all that Israel is blessed and will become a blessing to the whole world. Same way God said that all those who receive Jesus as their personal Saviour will be blessed along with Abraham. That word and mind of God are unalterable. Galatians 3:9 says So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. So it shall be! It cannot be otherwise. We Christians are saved by faith in Jesus Christ and we shall be blessed with Abraham. Even ten thousand Balaks and Balaams and a million satans cannot stop the blessing pronounced upon us. If youre a true child of God born into Gods family through the blood of Jesus, youll be hated by men but blessed and exalted by God. Dont worry about the Balaks. God is on your side. Hallelujah!
