Todays adventure was to the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls (about 20 miles past Ashton, ID). Theyre on the Henrys Fork (south fork of the Snake River). 2.5 billion gallons a day of water go over the falls. We hiked the Mesa Nature Trail from the Upper to the Lower falls. Fortunately the only bear we encountered was in the visitors center. As we were coming back on the trail the lightning and thunder started. We made it to the car and literally within about 60 seconds the sky opened up and it dumped buckets on the area! Afterward we went to Big Juds in Ashton. No, I didnt eat the one pound Big Jud Burger.
