Todays bible verse: And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 ESV) The oldest question in the world, why do bad things happen to good people, why must the good suffer?. Im sure you can name a lot of irreligious people who seem to be doing so well and you wonder why. As a Chaplain working in a hospital, I cant tell you how many times I had to answer that question. My answer to that has always been and continues to be For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. (Psalm 30:5 ESV). You see, like you I believe there are no coincidences, God is large and in charge, nothing escapes his attention, nothing falls outside of his jurisdiction. Sometimes us Christians forget that not all that glitter is gold. Dont be gullible into believing everything that masquerades as happiness or success really is. Success or power, or happiness that is devoid of God is temporal and transient, it wont last. Consider this, God is working his purposes out, even in things that angers us, frustrates us, confuses us, alienates us, humbles us . O Hallelujah !! Bonus bible verse: No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39 ESV)
