Todays bible verse : No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37 ESV) To conquer is the same as to make an acquisition, to seize or take over. Picture a conquest as something you are in control of. When you conquer something you are not afraid if it, you are not intimidated or overwhelmed by it. You literally have subdued , crushed it or vanquished it. None of us wants to live our lives being captive to unhealthy circumstances or unhealthy environments. Humanity flourishes when we are surrounded by positive people with positive attitudes and in settings that are conducive to spiritual growth and development. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. (Luke 10:5-6 ESV) The bible clearly suggest that we must not remain victims to anything or anyone. Our charge as a renewed people is to conquer even the most seductive and tempting things around. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12 ESV) Dont be despondent that you find yourself engaged in fierce daily battles. Life can deal some cruel blows at times. Many of us will encounter situations that demands the best of us. But never cease in doing good. Fight the good fight with all thy might. Christ is thy strength and Christ thy right. Lay hold on life, and it shall be thy joy and crown eternally. Faint not nor fear: Gods arms are near. God changeth not, and thou art dear. Only believe, and thou shalt see that Christ is all in all to thee.
