Todays big games: UEFA (already qualified - Belgium, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland) Group A The top three order has been decided: Belgium, Croatia and Serbia. As for the bottom three Wales are currently in forth, but a Welsh defeat, a Scotland draw and a Macedonia win would leave Wales bottom, Scotland fifth on goal difference to the Macedons in forth) Serbia v Macedonia Belgium v Wales Scotland v Croatia Group B Italy have won the group and not surprisingly Malta are bottom. But all the other four can come second. Bulgaria and Denmark are in second and third with Bulgaria having a reasonable advantage on goal difference. But a huge Danish win could see Denmark through if Bulgaria just edge it in Sofia. The Czechs have to win and have to hope the Danish drop points. As for the Armenians they have to hope Bulgaria and the Czechs draw which is possible, but also have to hope the Danes drop points as well as beating the Italians. Bulgaria v Czech Republic Denmark v Malta Italy v Armenia Group C Gone to plan Germany have won, Sweden are second, the Faroes prop up the table and Kazakhstan in fifth. Eire need a huge win against Kazakhstan and hope that the Faroes not only beat the Austrians but put about five past them. Faroe Islands v Austria Eire v Kazakhstan Sweden v Germany Group D Okay the Dutch have won. Andorra have yet to score, get a point and have a minus 28 goal difference, and Estonia will hold fifth. Hungary are two points below Turkey and Romania, so victory could put Hungary in the playoffs. A victory for Turkey should be enough. But the safe money will be on Romania. Hungary v Andorra Romania v Estonia Turkey v Netherlands Group E The Swiss are secure of top spot and Cyprus are secure at the bottom. Norway and Albania are out. An Icelandic victory will clinch second position for the Icelandics, but if they drop points and Slovenian win will put them in second. Albania will be hoping Norway dont win as a Norway draw and an Albanian win will put Albania forth. I fear this will be the group that misses out on the playoffs as only the top eight second placed teams will be placed. So one will miss out. Cyprus v Albania Norway v Iceland Switzerland v Slovenia Group F Simply put, Russia have to get a point to automatically qualify. The Portuguese need victory and an Azerbaijan win to take top spot, but are already guaranteed second place. Israel are safe in third. Azerbaijan are two points above the Irish, who are on the same number of points as Luxembourg but have a better goal difference. Azerbaijan v Russia Israel v Northern Ireland Portugal v Luxembourg Group G Bosnia and Greece are level on points but Bosnia have a far superior goal difference. Latvia will end fifth and Liechtenstein bottom. However a Lithuanian win combined with a Slovak loss will result in Slovakia and Lithuania switching places. Greece v Liechtenstein Lithuania v Bosnia-Herzegovina Latvia v Slovakia Group H San Marino are in their usual place and Moldova are currently on 8 points so perhaps are 2 points better off than expected. Poland are out, as are Montenegro in all bar mathematics. Victory for England will secure Englands flight to Brazil, but any less will see Ukraine through, unless San Marino can to the unthinkable. England v Poland Montenegro v Moldova San Marino v Ukraine Group I Belarus have played all their games and ended bottom. Spain are three points clear of France. It seems pretty straight forward, and Finland will end third regardless of results. France v Finland Spain v Georgia CONCACAF (already qualified - USA, Costa Rica) Costa Rica v Mexico (A point for Mexico will guarantee a playoff place but a victory could see them automatically qualify) Jamaica v Honduras (A point for Honduras will secure a place but defeat combined with a Mexico win would see Honduras in the playoff match against New Zealand) Panama v USA (Panama must win and hope Mexico lose and even then goal difference may not be enough) CONMEBOL (already qualified - Brazil, Argentina, Colombia) Paraguay v Colombia Chile v Ecuador (Ecuador have the goal difference advantage but a draw will send both through) Peru v Bolivia Uruguay v Argentina (Uruguay must win and hope theres a winner in the Chile-Ecuador clash to have any hope of automatic qualification, but are already guaranteed of a playoff against Jordan) CAF (already qualified - None) 1st Legs Ghana v Egypt Tunisia 0:0 Cameroon Ethiopia 1:2 Nigeria Ivory Coast 3:1 Senegal Burkina Faso 3:2 Algeria AFC (already qualified - Iran, South Korea, Japan, Australia; playoff - Jordan) OFC (playoff - New Zealand)
