Todays chapter of Susan Anderson & Gareths Greek Odyssey Tour - Checked out of the lovely Valente Perlia Rooms and headed over to Galatas for coffee with another of Susans pals, Georgious (affectionately know as Mygos to those of you that know the story) and after purchasing our tickets from the usually obvious bus station (a glass door next to the cafe) we boarded the bus to Isthmia (or Corinth as it is more commonly known!) The usual 50 min journey turned into almost two hours of spectacular, ever - changing scenery (I have appointed Susan as photographic manager today as I was asleep for half of it!) and arrived at a very impressive 4* hotel & bus station set up....Something akin to a Holiday Inn on a USA strip mall..plete with tourist market, numerous roadside cafes and souvlaki outlets and of course, a water park! We checked in, settled into our pool view room and proceeded to guzzle lunch and promptly fall asleep! At 5pm, the temptation was too great and I dragged Susan over to the water park (being accused of not respecting her age in the lift on the way!) and after an hour of childish playfulness on giant slides & a lazy river that was so lazy it was barely moving, we got serious and walked the 50m to view the incredible engineering feat that is the Corinth Canal! Have included pics....and I can hear you thinking...did he do the bungee jump?! Alas, no! :-( It was closed for the day and overlooking the vast abyss, I honestly do not know if I would have the balls! Back to the hotel for an early light dinner (a couple of ouzos, of course!) and bed as we have a Thelma & Louise style road trip ahead of us tomorrow! More to follow...sweet dreams and kisses to you all! Xx
