Todays daily bread: 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. The Word of God is referred to as a two-edged sword. Used incorrectly, it can do a great deal of damage to someones life. In the hands of a wise man or woman of God, it is able to cut away that which has attached itself to others to do harm. Sin is like a cancer. It may start off small, but left alone it will continue to grow to the point that it consumes ones life. Ministers are called to be like skilled physicians, able to administer the Word of God in such a way that the bad is removed and the good is left unharmed. Attending a church service where a minister is sensitive to the Holy Spirit and follows the leadings of the Lord will cause all those present to hear the Word of the Lord. It will bring peace to some and correction to others. This is the way that God designed His Word to work. We should never leave a church because we were made to feel convicted. Conviction is Gods way of telling us that He loves us enough to correct us and desires us to leave the arms of sin and run into His arms of grace.
