Todays daily bread: John 20:30-31 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. Johns account of the life and ministry of Jesus is powerful. Like all the Gospels, John has retold many of the teachings and miracles of Christ. One of the greatest characteristics of Johns retelling is the love of Christ. John so loved Jesus and had such a wonderful relationship with Him that in his personal account of Jesus ministry, he ministers from the vantage point of love. The bible tells us that it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. Our God is a good and loving God. The more time that we spend with God through His word and prayer, the more our eyes are opened to this truth. The love that God has shown us and continues to show us is incomparable to any other. His greatest desire is to have the relationship with us that He once had with Adam in the garden. Since sin created a great divide between us and Him, He made a way for us to bridge the gap. He gave the life of His only begotten Son. Jesus loved His Father so much, that He willingly laid down His own life for us. What a wonderful and loving God we serve!!
