Todays declutter mission, for December 14th, is declutter power - TopicsExpress

Todays declutter mission, for December 14th, is declutter power strips and extension cords. Some people never seem to find one of these when they need one, so they just keep buying and buying, and amass a vast collection. Others know exactly where all of theirs are at, but around times like Christmas, with all the holiday decorating, we need another one and dont have one to spare, since theyre all in use. So this mission really means two different things, depending on what category you fall in. If youve got too many, get rid of some (and also make sure to gather up all the ones youre keeping in one spot so you arent misplacing them anymore). No need to keep more than you can reasonably use. (Before you donate, sell, etc. them remember to keep some power strips or extension cords designated just for holiday use in your holiday decoration storage boxes. That way youre not searching for one next year when stringing up the Christmas lights for example.) If you fall on the other extreme you may not need to declutter any power strips or cords, but perhaps purchase some. I know that seems strange to say in a decluttering group, but if you actually need and will use something it isnt clutter. Take this day as your opportunity to save yourself continuous hassles and get the equipment you need. For those that fall in between, I suggest creating a designated space for all your power strips and extension cords so you can find them when you need so you save yourself either a long hunt or a few bucks when you give up trying to find one and just buy another. Bonus points if you tell me how you organize and store your power strips and cords. They can easily get to be a tangled jumbled mess, so your ideas can help others who are dealing with this little project today!
