Todays demonstration- SKIPPING! What an awesome and sometimes underrated form of cardiovascular training. Popularised by boxers, skipping allows you full control of rhythm and intensity, allowing you to adjust your exertion to suit a steady pace or HIT style. It also helps to teach a sense of rhythm and coordination. Gone are the days of putting a hood over your head, setting the treadmill to 4 and dawdling for an hour...I call that....LAZY. Bodybuilders and anyone into fitness back in the 70s used to skip to help get them in shape, & I dont understand how this has been forgotten! Thats because a lot of todays bodybuilders are...well...lazy...you can clearly hear big Lou Ferrigno say in the movie Pumping Iron that he jogged miles daily as part of his precontest regime, and he was a monstrous man. Im bringing it back baby! Heres a couple of tricks I learnt back in nam- doubles, triples, forward double with a cross, backward double with a cross.
