Todays flick is a Canadian slasher that has flown under the radar - TopicsExpress

Todays flick is a Canadian slasher that has flown under the radar for far too long. Its definitely not your typical body count/t & a fest (not that theres a damn thing wrong with either of those things) so thats probably why it didnt get more attention from the gorehounds who ate up less subtle fare or from film snobs who wouldnt have found it highbrow enough despite the fact that it doesnt fall prey to the traditional sub-genre stereotypes. Thankfully, it finally got a DVD release a couple years back and word started to spread so people have started to discover it and its now got a decent-sized cult following. It has a great sleepy, snowy backdrop in the form of an old country estate and that goes a long way toward establishing the films cold, somber mood. It has a maturity that most slashers full of teenyboppers cant relate to, but dont think for a second that it is lacking in the fright department. The ice skating scene is my favorite part here, but the films got plenty of memorable moments that should appeal to even the most jaded horror veteran. youtu.be/DWe9VUxfS1g
