A mainly dry day with plenty of sunshine but the odd isolates wintry shower cannot be ruled out. Winds mainly light, temperatures reaching no higher than -6c towards Dalwhinnie but nearer 5 or 6c around the north and west coast and across The Isles. Temperatures will plummet once the sun sets but cloud will be increasing across the Western Isles and this will push onto the mainland overnight lifting temperatures but not before another severe frost has developed with lows towards the east and NE of Highland down to -10c or so. More cloud tomorrow with the best of the brightness further east you are, patchy light rain, sleet or snow towards more western areas, less cold generally.
