Todays lesson: Your entire life can be fit or fat and Im not talking about physical pounds. Some of us are busy for the sake of being busy. We only feel accomplished by how busy we are. In life we do so many things, wear so many hats, and we may be good at several things but we dont excel at any because there are too many!!! So here it is. Time to trim the fat! Make a list of all you do. Now really think about what your focus is, take that list down to no more than 7 things! Focus on them and you can excel. Ill share my list with you to give you an idea. These are not in order! Be my own caretaker - what this means is that I take care of myself, making gym time for me and time for me to just relax, read a book, ride a bike, etc. Be a coach: every day its what I do. Mentor people to become the best they can be. Mom I have beautiful children. They need my time and attention, focus more on the little things with them. Keeper of the home- its a privilege to have a home and a man in it to take care of. See to it that he is taken care of and the house is as well. Grandmother- I have a grandson who doesnt need absentee grandparents. I need to be available to him for various things. Like play time and hugs and kisses and nap time :-) Caregiver - Im a nurse by trade and always a caregiver by heart. Thats what I do. That doesnt have to change. I just have to make sure that what I contribute to my career is beneficial for all and not adding undue stress to life! I realize this is lengthy but you have to focus on you, and sometimes when we look at ourselves, we dont even really know who we are or what we want. We know what others expect...focus on YOU!
