Todays music is from Iron Maiden. This is Hallowed Be Thy Name from the 1982 album entitled Mark Of The Beast. This song is consistently viewed as one of the greatest metal songs ever and is both the bands favorite tune and also frontman Bruce Dickinsons favorite song to do live and has remained on the bands set list in concert since its release. The song has become a metal standard over the years and has been covered by several other bands including Machinehead, Dream Theater, Cradle Of Filth and even Metallica. But, this is the original and this is supposed to be the best live version of this from 1982. For those who arent familiar with the song-it is a mini-operatic piece about a convicted criminal who is on his way to the gallows to pay for his crimes and he is reflecting on his life. Enjoy.
