Todays outing was quite disturbing. We saw lots of neglect, some people were not nice and we never even left Scott Co.! Its heartbreaking when we are there to offer free stuff and people turn it down. So, because of lack of laws here in Kentucky, we have to walk away. We saw dogs on chains shivering, no food, frozen water, and no proper shelter. AND YET, some owners would not allow us to leave straw. We saw one dog skin and bones, and so many short haired dogs chained with no straw, I really dont know how they survive. For all the bad we see, thank goodness something funny is always put in the mix to take our minds off of it for a short while. This involved me and my cohort pulling off to the side of a very busy road, me climbing over the seat and her getting out to take the drivers side so I could then act like GI-Joe and go into the woods and investigate something. When I come back, shes laughing hysterically because my pink toboggan stood out like a sore thumb. While I was up there, I got caught in some sticks and about twisted my ankle! The things we do for the dogs..... We also stopped by and visited with our friends Buddy & Bear, whom we built the fence for last month. They were so happy to see us because they know we come with goodies :) Random thoughts: Wonder how many Toyota employees are chaining their dogs? Why isnt the Scott Co. Animal Shelter open on Saturday? (the working world cant get there Mon-Fri 10-5 to adopt)
