Todays problem for the Mississippi Tea Party, as a political - TopicsExpress

Todays problem for the Mississippi Tea Party, as a political peoples movement is that they forgot to do the math. Rambunctious white Republican purists like the Tea Party, are not a majority in the state, and if they were, they would be that by taking on some powerful enemies. Those include the 37% of black people that live here, the 7 to 10% of white Democrats, and the white Republican moderates who believe that you CAN run a government that respects all the people. You just saw how that can even play out in a Republican primary, and it will be even more obvious in the general election. Heres my suggestion. Take things one step at a time. If you want to get rid of Boss Hawg and the Republican stain on the state, make some alliances with the other working class people -- who are NOT Republicans -- and win one for a change. A conservative Democrat would represent the state better than a wild-ass Republican extremist. Make some alliances and learn how to compromise and get things done for a change. You just lost one, even though it was mostly Koch brothers money that financed the race. If you want to win, respect other people, learn to work for a shared goal, and quit thinking anybody owes you something just for claiming you are the people. Youre just another special interest group -- a minority in the nation -- and you happen to have a larger presence in this state. That doesnt entitle you to just go nuts.
