Todays quick baseball hits: When the season started (because I live here) I guessed that the Brewers would end up either 2 games over or 2 games under .500. Well see. Theyre currently 3 over. Many people call what theyve done a collapse. I disagree. They are exactly where they should be. Theyre not as talented as the Pirates or the Cardinals. Very few free swinging, hit a lot of home runs but not consistently for avg. teams get very far and they didnt. Truth is, its all about the Packers here and always has been. The Brewers are a nice divergence until the NFL season, thats about it. Andrew McCutcheon is the real deal. Won the MVP last year in the NL and came right back with a great year. Hes also a clubhouse leader, a rarer commodity than one would think. If youre a baseball fan, tune in tonight to ESPN and watch the best pitcher in baseball, Clayton Kershaw, do his stuff. Yasiel Puig really does have off the charts talent but the maturity of a Little Leaguer at this point. Always a fun ride to watch. Adrian Gonzalez again has a quietly great year. One of the best swings in baseball since Jr. Griffey. And finally, (for now) a baseball announcing booth has never needed more than one guy to describe a game: Vin Scully. Period. Enjoy the post season. Cheers, SMT
