Todays racing was at the National Boulevard criteriums in C grade. It was very windy race with hot temperatures. It started off with a comfortable and leisurely pace. No one got off the front, no one really tried. It was a long line of riders. I was towards the end of the peloton. There was a massive split caused by a couple of riders. I made an attempt to break away. I was caught but there was a flurry of attacks when I was at the front. They were brought back, I was almost dropped by the tempo of the peloton when other people who tried to get a win solo. I was going into the red, thankfully there were no more attacks and I could get back on the wheels. Nothing happened until 1 to go. I was in 2nd wheel. On the slight incline a rider accelerated and I was ready. I sprinted up to the wheel. On the downhill sprint I had no more gears and the other competitors overtook me. In came in the top 10 overall. Tomorrow I will be racing at the #ShimanoSuperCriteriums in the junior u17 grade. If you dont know already its at St Kilda Cycling Club. Come down to see the racing. Might be able to meet some of the pros.
