Todays reading was from 2 Chronicles 1:1-12 and James 1:5. Yesterday we read from Matthew 6:25-34, 7:7-12. What do these verses have to do with our Parenting by the Book series? Well, God has given us His book to be our primary guide in raising children...train and instruct from last Sunday! But there are times and situations where the answers we need in our parenting are not spelled out in black and white in the Scriptures. What do we do then? Well, first we dont worry like a pagan parent might have to do (Matt.6). Second, we ASK for wisdom (Matt.7)...we get on our knees and ask the God who loves our children more than we ever could and the God who loves to give wisdom to those who ask (James1:5), we ask Him to please direct us and then give us the courage to DO what He directs us to do! God is not trying to withhold from us, so knock ( and keep knocking!) on the door of heaven and humbly ASK for Gods wisdom!
