Todays sermon about Gods Interruptions was a wonderful reminder - TopicsExpress

Todays sermon about Gods Interruptions was a wonderful reminder for me to truly focus on the important or even urgencies of life. It also has allowed me to reflect on the events of yesterday in the midst of a power outage. Ive been battling a bad poison ivy rash so we went to an urgent care in Lansing to get some assistance. The 3 staff members who helped me were wonderful (altho none of them looked old enough to have already graduated their respective medical courses)...a stop at Meijer for a prescription allowed me to interact with a pharmacy technician who was very kind, personable, and considerate....did some grocery shopping there as well and met a produce clerk with a warm, fun-loving personality who, when I jokingly said us (me) short shoppers cant always see the signs above the produce, informed me that I am the average height of Meijers shoppers. Hmmm...50 I asked to which he replied, no, um, actually our average shopper is 54....stopped at Gordons and met Scott in the snack aisle who is one of the nicest young men Ive ever met. We talked about his family. He works two jobs (used to be 3) to support his wife and 3 children, so his wife can be home with the kids. All spoken with a huge smile and genuine love and pride in his work. I share all of this because so often in our day-to-day activities which cause us to get caught up in the trappings of too much buziness, we run the risk of missing out on small common courtesies and the fact that most of the people we will interact with on any given day are very nice folks. My response and I hope you will join me, is to always say thank you, you are (were) very kind.....the smiles and expressions on 3 young medical personnel was proof of such a thank you as I left (even tho the shot in the bottom I received did hurt just a tad :D)
