Todays theme: no good deed goes unpunished. Pulled in to get gas. Put in my debit card and started fueling. Lady runs out from the booth, frantically waving her arms. Apparently, she told the attendant the wrong pump number, so I was actually pumping the gas but she paid for. The attendant couldnt resolve the situation, so he told me to take cash out of the ATM. I told him that the ATM was going to charge me a fee and that my bank would also charge me a fee on their end. Neither of them cared. Long story short, I just paid $5 for this clueless lady to get her gas even though it was her mistake. Honestly, I wouldnt have minded donating $5 to the cause of being nice. But the thing that really gets my goat is that she didnt care and that she felt entitled to it. That was my problem earlier today. I rarely flinch at the cost associated with helping people or maintaining goodwill, but I haaaaaaaate when they treat me in a way that seems entitled or unappreciative.
