Todays trip to Chevron was fantastic but compared to the last time I was there just a few months ago, the place was a real ghost town! Folks, this is the height of tourist season and there are no tourists anywhere which means there is no business for shopkeepers, tour guides, bus companies and cab drivers, tourist sites etc. etc. I realize that many people are afraid to come to Israel for fear of rockets flying everywhere and being in an unsafe environment but I can assure you that it is very safe here and people are hurting for lack of parnasa. I cannot stress enough how important it is for israel to see that they have the support of the Jewish communities outside of the country in both good times and bad.
