Todays very rarely seen archive pick: One of the oddest pieces I - TopicsExpress

Todays very rarely seen archive pick: One of the oddest pieces I ever made, which is saying something. :) APOLOGUE. 2003 Commissioned by a collector, Apologue played with a strong use of color and an idiosyncratic composition. The vintage wooden-and-steel shoe tree balances like a contortionist over the door escutcheon plate. The collector enjoyed wearing quite large jewelry, so I was able to play somewhat outside my normal restrictions of wearable scale. Victorian doorknob plate, shoe tree, optometrist lens, star anise, crab claw, steel nails, upholstery studs, thumb tacks, glass, mahogany, 17th-century Korean kozo paper, steel-point engraving, echidna quills, opal, seashells, steel, leather, paper, text, soil.
