Todays word of encouragement: Hebrews 12:11, Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Here we are into the first few days of March already! For many of us, January 1, represented a day of reckoning that this year we will get fit and serious about a healthy lifestyle. For those who have submitted to the discipline, by now, are probably finally getting used to the regime of a regular workout and disciplined / healthy eating. Additionally, I would bet those persons have shed a few pounds and theres some definition to certain muscles groups! Has the process been easy? No! Do we like it? No! Has it been joyful? No! And has it been painful? Absolutely yes! But this physical training regime will yield a well-toned, muscular body and healthy eating habits if maintained! So it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual! As we submit to the training process, the chastening of The Lord, we will yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness! We wont have to try or strive to act in accordance with the fruits if the Spirit; they will yield in our lives - we will stumble into them! As a mentor of mine said, well stumble forward into the things of God! But we must first be willing to submit ourselves to the training and development process! What do our individual training programs look like? Only we as individuals know. The word of The Lord is that we must work out our own soul salvation with fear and trembling! There are many components to the training regimen. I do know that in ALL cases, it requires faith in God! For without faith, it is impossible to please Him. Remember, No chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless (not my will but Your will be done Lord), afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it! God is establishing His roots in us so that we are well equipped for our route in life! Blessings everyone!
