Todays word of encouragement: John 7:37b-38 states, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me (Jesus) and drink. He who believes in Me (Jesus), as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. As I meditated on this scripture, I was given a picture of a river that never runs dry! A river that never runs dry is a result of of a steady flow in because theres a steady flow out. There is a yearning for more of His fullness because theres more of a demand of His flow from our lives. In this text, Jesus is speaking saying if anyone is thirsty; has a longing for true living, come to Him and drink. Then, as a result of belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we become a conduit for others to drink as rivers of living water flow from our hearts. Just this week, I have noticed an exceptional number of posts from wives expressing their gratitude and appreciation for the things their husbands do. This is encouraging because by nature, we (mankind) were created to serve ourselves to each other by maximizing the God-given talents in service to one another; or at least, to those in our circle of influence. This is a form of rivers of living water flowing out of our heart! As the rivers flow out, there is a yearning in our hearts for more of the life of Jesus to flow in and through us. Intimacy with The Lord is a if not the key ingredient to the constant moving river in the life of the believer! Letss be sure to never be a swamp or pond of stagnant water; but rather, out of our heart will flow rivers of living waters! Ezekiel 47:12 states, Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine! How does this happen? I do not know! But what I know is that because He said it, it happens! Our responsibility is to believe, hear and do as directed! For out of his heart, will flow rivers of living water! Blessings everyone
