Todays word of the day is Habitual trogloxenes. This is actually a Biology term but it does relate to Cave Geology/Karst. Habitual trogloxenes is when animals spend a significant portion of the life in the total dark areas of caves, but usually spend time and normally go above ground for food. Bats are a classic case of this. The paper entitled Model Ordinacne for Development on Karst in Kentucky by James Currens and accessed on the Kentucky Geological Survey is where I first discovered this term. Prior to this I wouldnt of known what Habitual trogloxenes meant.
