Today’s Bible Verse: 27 October, 2013 Sunday. “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16) In Christ Dear Brothers and Sisters, When we forgive one another’s shortcomings with our hearts filled with love, we become healthier in life. In Matthew 9:2,6, we read, “Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven. The paralytic man was taken to Lord Jesus; he could not do anything. But what did the Lord Jesus say first? He said, Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven. After that He said, Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house. And he arose and departed to his house (Matthew 9:6,7). Several years back, a man of God went to a church for preaching. He was given a warm welcome. As he seated himself, he was taken aback to see that the person who was conducting the service was the one who had caused much grief to him. It was said that that man’s life was also not proper. It was a Holy Communion service and this preacher wondered, Oh! How will I receive Communion from this man? How am I going to get the bread, the body of Lord Jesus, from his hands? At that time, Lord Jesus opened his spiritual eyes and he saw Him standing inside the altar holding the bread, which denotes His body, in one hand and a cup bearing His blood in the other hand. The Lord told the preacher, “Son, it is nobody else but Me who is going to serve My body and My blood. So look at Me and come to Me.” On hearing this, the preacher’s heart melted and he went forward, knelt down and received the bread and wine that denote the body and blood of Lord Jesus, from His hands. Those who were against him in the church saw this sight and they were moved. Further, the person who conducted the service and had harmed that preacher was also touched, and health descended upon everyone. That day, division departed and the church became one. Since then, it began to grow and the Lord’s blessing abounded in that church. The people were blessed. This was a true incident! The Bible says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16). Yes, only when we forgive trespasses, we can pray fervently. Our life in this world is very short. Let us forgive one another freely. Then we shall be healed. 2 Chronicles 30:20 “And the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people.” 1 Kings 13:6 “Then the king said to the man of God, Intercede with the LORD your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored. So the man of God interceded with the LORD, and the kings hand was restored and became as it was before.” Genesis 20:17 “Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again,” Most Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank You with all our hearts. You have granted us forgiveness through Your Son’s precious blood. Please fill our hearts with Your divine love. Help to forgive others shortcomings. Enable us to pray for others. Let divine health descend upon us. Give peace to our souls. Thank You Lord for doing it so. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. God Bless You All and Shalom.
