Today’s Devotional: The bible tells us that we are to honor those who are appointed over us in the church. We are to honor him and not argue with or speak against him/her. We are to respect his decisions and realize that he/she is appointed by God to lead us and to teach us God’s word. We are to respect our pastor by listening to his word which comes from God. We do not speak out during the service or start up a conversation with someone in the congregation during that time. That is not the way to show respect to them. As long as his/her word is in the scripture given by God himself, we must obey and respect what we are told. You see, God appointed this person to be the head of the church which you are in. We are not to disrespect this person. We are to support them thru our actions as well as our prayers. Your pastor is appointed to give correction to you when needed and to teach you, support you and lift you up when you are down. As said in a blog I read today: “Don’t just honor your pastor when you feel like it, or during a special season. Honor your pastor all the time. Honor him in the clear ways God says to honor him. This is God’s will for your life. Honor him so that he might do his work with joy, which will be to your benefit (Heb. 13:17). Honor him so that you honor God. It would do well for all to remember this in order to glorify God.
