( or BBQ Question ) Its Egg shaped ball Finals time , and whilst i have no connection to either code i would like to ask the Learned Gentlemen of the Rugby League Code Amongst you this curly question ! If a player drops the ball 10 meters from his own goal line then kicks it , it is deemed a knock on he is therefore penalised and a scrum is played and a feed is rewarded to the opposing side . My Question is ... If the Above statement is true , why then is an Attempted field goal ... NOT ruled a knock on ?? when the player has deliberately knocked the ball on ? See SECTION 10 from the official Rugby League rule book KNOCK-ON AND FORWARD PASS Deliberate 1. A player shall be penalised if he deliberately knocks on or passes forward.
