Today’s Gospel ［Friday of 21st Week in Ordinary Time］: )【In today’s parable about the Kingdom of heaven, ten virgins were to meet the bridegroom at night. Five were foolish and came with lamps without lamp oil in them. Five were wise and they did not forget to bring the lamp oil. Because the foolish virgins had to go to buy oil for their lamps, they missed out on receiving and meeting the bridegroom. They also missed out on attending the wedding feast. The bridegroom can be seen as Christ. Attending the wedding feast would mean entering the Kingdom of heaven with Jesus Christ and having a part in the joyful celebration in the Kingdom. We must not be haphazard and foolish in our ways and must be constantly prepared and ready, and, as Jesus said, to be constantly on the alert and to “stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”】(Mt 25:1-13) 　　2013-08-30 (Friday of 21st Week in Ordinary Time)
