Today’s Healing scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people - TopicsExpress

Today’s Healing scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Good morning the word for today is face - outward appearance, the identifiable features that reflect who we are. Our faces reflect what we have been doing. Playing in the mud, kids look and are dirty. On Sunday morning those same muddy faces will looked polished and fresh because the children have been in contact with lots of soap and water. Our faces also reflect where we are so if we are in Christ, our face (our countenance) should be different. Buddy and I were invited to a college event last night called “Passion.” The music was wonderful. The young people in the praise band were accomplished singers and musicians and could probably sing any type of contemporary popular music but the face (presentation) of their music reflected our Lord! The speaker was Louie Giglio who began to tell us that there is a God, God exists, and God has a face. That face is Jesus and Jesus is looking at you right now. Since Jesus is so intent upon knowing us, He seeks us out and is the best face we could seek. Jesus is the exact reflection of God. Just as the moon reflects the glory of the Sun, Jesus reflects the glory of God and we, too, should reflect the glory of God when Jesus comes to live within us! When Moses went up the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments, he spent so much time in God’s presence that his face glowed. He had to veil his face to keep from terrifying those he had led out of Egypt. The scripture, “Christ in you –the hope of glory (Col. 1:27),” tells us that there has to be something different on the outside of us that portrays Christ to the world. God’s glory is reflected in the face of Jesus. The music we heard last night invited us to shine the light of Jesus into the dark places of the world. Louie said, if we have been in the presence of Jesus, God’s presence (light) shines from our faces. He shared the scripture in 2 Corinthians 4: 6 “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” Moses hid his glowing face from the people – we are designed to show Jesus to the world. 2 Cor. 3: 18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” May our faces reflect the passion that God has for this world; may our faces reflect Jesus and offer hope to the world!! Jesus went about “healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23).
