Today’s KCB Mobi Bank Nakuru Rally, the fourth round of the Kenya National Rally Championship, will see crews compete on private land stages in the vast Baringo County. 0 inShare Spectators will only be able to watch rally action at the designated spectator stage at Kipsyenan Primary in Kampi ya Moto, some 27 kilometers from Nakuru town. Kipsyenan Secondary grounds will also host the Service Park and rally headquarters. Speaking during the ritual pre-rally briefing, debutant and first ever lady clerk of course Lynn Tundo, outlined the importance of the new changes. “As the organiser, we are firm on stopping situations where spectators run up and down the stages and causing traffic risks on the roads,” said Tundo. Tundo went on to add that the safety measures taken have well been thought through and will be up to required standards. “We are aware it will be difficult, a porous rally but we have recruited 80 marshals who will man the route,” she added. The round organised by the Rift Valley Motor and Sports Club will see the drivers traverse the scenic attractions of the Rift Valley. Series leader Baldev Chager of Kabras Sugar Racing Team will once again be among the favourites driving Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Besides Chager, others to watch in the Division 1 category are reigning champion Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo, Ian Duncan, Azar Anwar and Alastair Cavenagh who will be making a comeback after missing the Voi Rally. Chager clinched the first round of the series in Kajiado in January with Tundo emerging the winner of the second round in Nyeri and Ian Duncan winning Voi Rally last month.
