Today’s Message THE DIVINE “BUTS” Experiencing Gods intervention when we face a crisis in life There is one phrase used 43 times in Scripture that causes my spirit to leap for joy. That phrase is: BUT, GOD! But God offers hope when there appears to be no hope. But God offers life when death seems the only outcome. “But God” stands diametrically opposed to the negative roar of the world. The world says no – “but God” says yes. The world says can’t – “but God” says can. “But God” is a practical reminder that no matter what circumstance you’re facing, not to forget the God factor. . It will make all the difference in each difficult situation you encounter in your life, if you simply remember to invite God into the challenge. GOD can turn a MESS into a MESSage, a TEST into a TESTimony, a TRIal into a TRIumph, a VICTim into a VICTory. 1. DEFEAT TO VICTORY Acts 13:29-30. They laid him in the tomb. BUT GOD raised him from the dead. Acts 2:24- But God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible for him to be held by its power. 2. HELL TO HEAVEN Ephesians 2:1-5- We were dead in sins and transgressions. BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us made us alive in Christ and seated with him in heavenly realms! 3. PIT TO PALACE Acts 7:9-10- “Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. BUT GOD was with him and rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt; so he made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace. Genesis 50:20- But as for you, you meant evil against me; BUT GOD meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. 4. DISEASES TO HEALING Philippians 2:27- Indeed he was ill, and almost died. BUT GOD had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow. 5. DISHONOUR to HONOUR I Corinthians 1:25-29- Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. BUT GOD chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. God doesn’t look at things the way that man does. God often uses little things, little people to do His Great work. WHENEVER YOU FEEL DISCOURAGED, LOOK UP SOME “BUT GOD” VERSES AND BE REASSURED OF GOD’S INVOLVEMENT IN THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.
