Today’s announcement that ABEC is investing in Fermoy Co. Cork with the creation of 100 jobs is a huge boost. The company announced plans to expand its global operations at the former FCI facility site in Fermoy, Co. Cork. The new operation will produce engineered process equipment for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and provide a range of service offerings to meet the growing demand from global pharmaceutical and biotech customers. I met senior ABEC executives on a recent investment mission to the USA to discuss this project. The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland. Engineering and manufacturing companies form a key part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs.
