Today’s second annual Plane Pull for Special Olympics drew 50 teams and hundreds of volunteers, spectators, Special Olympics athletes, and vendors out to DIA’s Signature Flight Support hangar and adjacent tarmac. The Broomfield Police Department came in as the fastest team to pull the plane 12 feet and take home the coveted FedEx trophy as the fastest Law Enforcement Torch Run team for Special Olympics. Broomfield also has the bragging rights for the highest fundraising team with over $5,400 heading into today’s event. The highest fundraiser for the 2014 Plane Pull was Leslie Gordon from HMS Host with $1,950. Other winners at today’s Plane Pull for Special Olympics Colorado: Most Team Spirit, Crossfit Evolve; Fastest Aviation Team JARS; Fastest Overall Team, Team Tom (5 seconds); Fastest Fitness Team, Iron Rebel.
