Todd & I went for a ride yesterday and something interesting happened to us. We stopped to visit my Dad. I dont get there often so since we were in Sheppton we stopped. I started my usual clearing weeds and stuff from around the military marker and the head stone. I also straightened the flag and holder - Dad being a WWII veteran. Todd being the awesome person he is was just letting me talk to Dad and do my stuff. When I stepped back I asked him if my math was correct - Dad only being 86 when he died. We talked a bit about that and that it is almost 9 years since hes been gone. There was only one other car in that cemetery and as always it was very quite. Its funny I always feel comfortable there. Maybe because so many of my relatives are there. Suddenly an older man was right there by us w/ a little dog named Rocky. He claimed that Rocky cant walk past anyone without checking them out. It didnt appear to me as if the dog was pulling much on the leash but hey - the man was sweet. Anyway we talked some about motorcycles, his son, how we were visiting my Dad. Then you know how small towns are we are trading names of people we know etc. After a bit we said our good-byes, how nice it was to meet him and I asked Rocky to keep an eye on Dad for me. Now the road in and out is just one road which leads into an 8 shape. We took the middle of the 8 back around to the exit road. I looked back towards Dads grave and didnt see the man. Freaked me out but then I noticed him in the shade of a tree that well has been there since I was little. What then seemed odd - he watched us leave just like a family member would do. I just got the strangest feeling - you see yesterday was our 23 wedding anniversary and I almost felt like Dad visited with us! Just very strange. Dad I miss you so much. Love paula
