Toddler survives two-storey plunge BY FLORIS STEENKAMP/Informanté A two-year-old child survived a two-storey fall from a building in Walvis Bay recently, miraculously sustaining only a laceration to the chin and minor bruises. The girl’s grandmother was alone in the flat with her at the time, but in an unattended moment the child plunged over a balcony barrier and landed on a lawn. The child’s grandmother expressed her gratitude that the child sustained no life- threatening injuries. She ascribed the fact that the girl landed on a lawn as one of the reasons why the fall was not fatal. The flat where the child plunged to the ground is situated in Walvis Bay’s State House Crescent. The child must have plunged at least twelve metres. The grandmother said she was looking for alternative accommodation now, as the child spends most of the time with her and she does not want to expose her to any further danger.
