Tokoroa 886 23/11/2013 was the set date for the first Tokoroa Day. The initative for Tok Day started from a conversation on the Genuine Tok Page. People were talking about celebrating tok and the people born & breed there. Noel Ferguson got the ball rolling, I was keen to jump on board to represent our home town. Planning went into effect for the 2013 Tok Day. We were behind schedule but everything went to plan. It was a success the weather held up and everyone enjoyed themselves. I wont take all the credit for the success if it wasnt for my team. I would like to give a big ups to my team my whanau Trice Lepaio, Hine Rewita, Marion Morunga, Taiatini Rewita, Jazaine Mahia, Tammy Stuart, Trae Rewita, Denzel Rewita, Zak Rameka, Thomas Mahia, Leo Tehira, Huntly Howden.My two nephews who couldnt make it James Hughs & Tai Rewita you all stuck with me regardless, evan thou I stalked you, pushed your limits, and out of your comfort zone you all did an amazing & an outstanding job yesturday. This project would not be complete without your awhi and dedication. On behalf of our team we would like to extend our graditute to Steve Whitaker all the performers that entertaintained the audience throughout the day yous rock. My bro Ray Bishop you were amazing thank you for contacting some business in tok for support. Roots Konekt what can I say yous were off the hook definate keepers for our 2014 fundraiser. All the sponsors who provided equipment, funding and a hugh amount of giveaways are so many to include big thanks. Our MCs Dr Fresh, Roger Mahu, Izzy Marsh, Charlie Stowers mean maori mean. Foodstall & promotional sites that catered for our audience big thanks. A massive Thank You to the Maori Wardens Kim Thompson for hooking us up with security for the day and entire weekend nightfall to monitor the marquees on site. I hope I havent left anyone out. The event was a success awsome turnout Tokoroa. We have paid all the outgoing costs. So looking forward to the 2014 massive fundraiser we are planning for Easter Weekend.
