Tokyo, August 6, 2013 His Excellency John V. Roos Ambassador of the United States of America Tokyo Dear Ambassador Roos, With your departure from Japan approaching, I wish to express my sincere gratitude for having listened to my plea for true denuclearization in line with President Obama’s enlarged vision. I will treasure the three encouraging letters you have so kindly addressed to me during your mission in Japan. The Japanese, going through the terrible tragedy, will never forget your invaluable support offered in time of need. I am convinced that you fully understand the historic role of Japan never to allow the horrific nuclear disaster to happen again on this planet. The worsening radioactive contamination of the sea will soon awaken the whole world to the nuclear dangers that cannot be endured by human society. As you know, I believe in the historic role of President Obama to secure peace by dint of maternal way of thinking based on harmony and tolerance. In this connection, I have a favor to ask of you. Please convey to him the following message. “There is a trinity relationship for global ethics, maternal civilization and true denuclearization. The UN Ethics Summit is the unavoidable entrance to your vision. Your precious support for it is ardently awaited.” I wish you the best of luck for your future mission. With heighest and warmest regards, Mitsuhei Murata ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tokyo, 9 August, 2013 Dear Ambassador Roos, Your televised interviews of yesterday must have greatly touched the heart of the audience. Your presence in Nagasaki today conveys the determination of President Obama to attain his vision for true denuclearization. Your mission in Japan is to end in such a significant manner. Your lofty endeavors are thus rewarded. With the problem of contaminated water at the Fukushima Daiichi beyond control, the full assumption of responsibility by the Government is now unavoidable. I am attaching the exchange of mails with the Center for Ocean Research Kiel in Germany and with Reverend Gunnar Stalsett, member of the Norwegian Nobel committee. I am convinced that Fukushima has started changing the world. I am looking forward to seeing you again. With highest and warmest regards, Mitsuhei Murata From: Gunnar St虱sett Sent: Wednesday, August 07, 2013 11:05 PM To: mitsuhei murata Subject: Re: Fukushima contaminated water Dear Mitsuhei Murata. Thanks fe sharing the important message with me. I have passed it on to the GS of the World Council of Churches as the nuclear issue will be an important issue at the upcoming Assembly in Busan. Please continue to keep me in the loop. Regards Gunnar Dear Reverend Stalsett, I wish to draw your attention to the crisis of contaminated water at the Fukushima Daiichi. The government admitted today that 300 tons of radioactive water every day,and this ,possibly since the accident. Finally, the Government accepted to take in charge a portion of the expenses. With the accumulated 420.000 tons, there is no solution in sight as yet. A few days ago,I started contacting the Center for Ocean Research Kiel in Germany. Its model simulations on the long-termdispersal of 137Cs released into the Pacific Ocean off Fukushima of July ,2012 were so impressive. The contamination of the Ocean will make fail the sinful international strategy to ignore the Fukushima Accident, if it exists as is often alluded to. I believe this Center will play a decisive role to awaken the world to the nuclear dangers. -----Original Message----- From: mitsuhei murata Sent: Saturday, August 03, 2013 7:19 PM Subject: Fukushima contaminated water GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel Dear Director Herzig, Please allow me to send this urgent mail. I am Former Japanese Ambassador to Switzerland. I am warning the world against another nuclear disaster if the lessons of Fukushima are ignored. In my attached messages addressed to UNSG Ban Ki-moon,I pointed out the increasing difficulties for the disposal of contaminated radioacitve water. The accumilated total volume has now amounts to 420,000 tons as of July 30,and daily increasing by 400 tons. It was revealed yesterday that 100 tons were leaking dayly into the sea. I would very much appreciate if you would let me know the position of your center on this critical issue. Model simulations on the long-termdispersal of 137Cs released into the Pacific Ocean off Fukushima of July ,2012 were so impressive. With highest regards, Mitsuhei Murata -----Original Message----- From: Jan Helmke Sent: Monday, August 05, 2013 6:39 PM Cc: Peter Herzig Subject: Re: WG: Fukushima contaminated water Dear Mr. Murata, On behalf of Prof. Herzig I would like to thank you for forwarding the actual information on Fukushima contaminated water to us. We are currently examining whether our scientists will be able to provide an updated model simulation of contaminated water release into the Pacific and will come back to you as soon as possible. Best wishes and kind regards, Jan Helmke
