Tokyo has become and will become more convenient and more helpful for foreign tourists to travel around.The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is stepping up its efforts to improve bus and subway services for foreign tourists. 1) Tokyo has increased the number of concierges at subway stations to 50 from last years 40. Those Concierges help guide foreign guests in English. 2) Tokyo has also increased the number of stations with the concierge services from 14 last fiscal year to 18. 3) Working hours of the concierge expanded to Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from only weekdays. 4) For public bus users, you can connect the internet through free Wi-Fi access except tour buses. The government will look into the possibility of offering the service at subway stations, too. Many foreign tourists are coming back to Tokyo in greater numbers than ever thanks to a weakening of the yen and the Japanese governments easing of visa requirements for travelers from Southeast Asia, said an official at the industrial and labor affairs bureau.
